The Pink Project

The Pink Project starts with the color. Pink and orange are the most contrasting colors with the urban and natural world. Yellow has been culturally utilized to signal danger. Red's history is too complicated.

The project is a series of boxes and roofs scattered over the demolished residential landscape of New Orleans. The scattered symbolize the anarchy and destruction after the flood. Each time a $150,000 donation is received, a roof is placed on a box that is squared to the street. At the end, a second media opportunity should emerge of an orderly future neighborhood illustrated in pink. As on December 20, 2007, funds have been donated for 42 houses.

"Next challenge, the Biennial of the Americas in Denver asked, could I represent the 35 nations of the Western hemisphere and their interconnectedness in a sculpture? I didn't know where to begin, but I said yes. I read about the recent earthquake in Chile and the tsunami that rippled across the entire Pacific Ocean. It shifted the Earth's tectonic plates, sped up the planet's rotation and literally shortened the length of the day. So I contacted NOAA, and I asked if they'd share their data on the tsunami, and translated it into this. Its title: "1.26" refers to the number of microseconds that the Earth's day was shortened."

A megnyitó is megvolt.
Azért jó hely az a Pilisborosjenő. A köztérre kihelyezett 24 digitális képkeretből  a beszedésig mindössze egyet rongáltak meg, és azt is csak kicsit.





A templomdombon a szemetest is bársonnyal bélelik.





Ugyanott a világ tengelyeiből egy csokor: kopjafa, világfa, fényoszlop, parabola.

És a macskáik is barátságosak.

A cozy place - Hamar's main square covered in a sweater

In collaboration the Architecture Studio Ecosistema Urbano and the Boa Mistura group took part in the central square renovation project in the city of Hamar, Norway. The intervention, more than 1.000 sq. meters, made on the pavement was inspired by the traditional Norwegian wool sweater patterns.



Boa Mistura is a multidisciplinary group whose roots are in graffiti, formed at the end of 2001 in Madrid, Spain. The group works in various fields: from the latest trends in graffiti and street murals, to illustration, graphic design, studio painting and collabo­rations with interior designers and architects.

They have taken part in exhibitions in art galleries such as the Reina Sofía Museum and the Casa Encendida in Madrid, and the DA2 Museum in Salamanca. They have collaborated with founda­tions such as ONCE (Spanish national organisation for the blind), Oxfam and Antonio Gala, and given lectures at universities such as Madrid, Seville and Alcalá de Henares.
Boa Mistura has completed projects for brands such as Google, Microsoft, Sony Music and Adidas and in 2010 a Latin Grammy nomination for best cover design.
The term “Boa Mistura”, from the Portuguese for “good mixture”, refers to the diversity of style and perspectives of each member. Love for graffiti, colour and life. Distinct visions which complement each other, influence each other, and always combine to create something even better.

Public Art Dialogue

Public Art Dialogue is an organization devoted to public art. PAD was founded on the premise that dialogue is the essential element in all effective public art endeavors. PAD serves as a forum for critical discourse and commentary about the practice of public art defined as broadly as possible to include: memorials, object art, murals, urban and landscape design projects, social interventions, performance art, and web-based work.

Public Art Dialogue is a scholarly journal, welcoming of new and experimental modes of inquiry and production. Most issues are theme-based, and each features both peer-reviewed articles and artists' projects.

Fent és lent

Egyre több olyan alternatív városfelfedező akció és séta van Budapesten, amelyek az eldugott, nehezen hozzáférhető vagy éppen illegális nem-helyekből a jelenlét által próbálnak helyeket varázsolni. Az előző bejegyzésemben egy föld alatti túrákat vezető projektről írtam, most itt van két akció, két csapat, akik a magasba törnek: egyikük az Altomán, Kelet-Európa majdnem egyetlen urbex blogjának névtelen szerzője, a másik pedig a BME Építészmérnöki Karának hallgatóiból álló csapat, akik Budapest tetőit járják végig, és az ott készülő fotókat gyűjtik össze Lélekcseréltető című blogjukon. (....a budapesti lakók egy nagy része nem is tudja, mi van a házainak tetején. És hogy vajon hányan érzik át a tetőre kimenés titkos szabadságát?")
